Paving Reduces Route 63 in Upper Salford to One Lane

UPPER SALFORD PA – Route 63 between Long Mill Road and Shady Lane in Upper Salford Township will be reduced to a single lane with flagging Monday through Thursday (Aug. 30-Sept. 2, 2021) daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for paving, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area. Penn DOT said backups and delays will occur. The work schedule of general contractor H&K Group Inc. of Skippack depends on acceptable weather.

The paving operations are part of a $9.5 million project to replace the bridge that carries Route 63 over the East Branch of the Perkiomen Creek. Major construction on the project ended in late December 2020.
