Township Police Seek Reading Man in Alleged Assault

LOWER POTTSGROVE PA – A warrant for the arrest of a 21-year-old Reading man has been issued to the Lower Pottsgrove Police Department, it announced Monday (Aug. 30, 2021), following an incident last week that involved an alleged assault of a woman in the Rolling Hills apartment complex on Buchert Road.

Being sought by police is Quadir Naeem Nixon. Officers were alerted and responded Wednesday (Aug. 25; the time was not disclosed), court records indicate, of a disturbance at Rolling Hills. Upon arrival, according to the department’s CrimeWatch website, they found the female victim injured and determined she “was assaulted by the father of her children, Nixon.”

Nixon had earlier been banned from the Rolling Hills property, police said, and had been served with a “banning letter.”

Nixon was charged with simple assault, defiant trespass based on an actual communication, and harassment. He apparently failed to attend a preliminary hearing on the matter scheduled for Thursday (Aug. 26), records show. The warrant was issued shortly after by Magisterial District Justice Edward C. Kropp Sr.

Anyone who knows of Nixon’s whereabouts is asked to call the department at 610-326-1508 to provide information. Tips can also be submitted anonymously at the website’s “Submit A Tip” page, here.
