Troopers Cite Collegeville Driver in Skippack Accident
SKIPPACK PA – A 27-year-old Collegeville man was cited for failure to yield to stop signs and yield signs following a Thursday (Aug. 26, 2021) two-vehicle accident at 2:45 p.m. at the intersection of Bridge and Perkiomen Creek roads in Skippack Township, Pennsylvania State Police from the Troop K Barracks reported. No one was injured. One disabled vehicle was towed away.
Troopers said a 2009 Honda Ridgeline driven by the Collegeville man was stopped on Perkiomen Creek Road, facing east. The second vehicle, a 2002 Acura TL driven by a 17-year-old Pottstown woman, was traveling south toward the intersection.
The crash occurred, they added, as the Ridgeline driver “proceeded without proper clearance after stopping at the stop sign.” He attempted to cross over Bridge Road onto Wingate Road, and “pulled out in front of” the Acura.” The Acura “struck the front driver side bumper area” of the Ridgeline with its front end. Both vehicles came to rest in the area of the impact.
