Phoenixville, Pottstown Hospitals Win Heart Awards

WEST READING PA – Tower Health hospitals in Phoenixville and Pottstown have been recognized by the American Heart Association for successes in caring for patients diagnosed with cardiovascular disease, including heart attack, stroke, and heart failure, the healthcare system said Thursday (Sept. 2, 2021).

For patients with disease conditions that are severe enough to transport or admit them to a hospital, time is critical. The association’s “Get With The Guidelines” program is intended to reduce barriers to prompt treatment for cardiovascular events.

Phoenixville Hospital won a Gold Plus-level award for achieving its “Get With The Guidelines, Heart Failure with Type 2 Diabetes honor roll”; and a second Gold Plus-level award for achieving its “Get With The Guidelines, Stroke with Type 2 Diabetes honor roll.” Pottstown Hospital won a Gold Plus-level award for achieving its “Get With The Guidelines, Stroke with Elite Type 2 Diabetes honor roll.”

“Our teams are committed to providing immediate care using the latest research-based guidelines to ensure patients have a quick recovery, and are able to get back to the life that they love,” Tower Chief Executive Officer, Physician Enterprise and Interim Chief Medical Officer Dr. Suzanne Wenderoth said.
