DOWNED WIRE CAUSES BACKUP – Traffic on North Pleasant View and North Sanatoga roads in Lower Pottsgrove Township came to a few minutes’ standstill (at right) Tuesday (Sept. 7, 2021) at about 3:15 p.m., as a tractor-trailer combination found it impossible to head south past a downed wire (at top) in the 1700 block of North Sanatoga Road. The wire between a utility pole and nearby residence was snapped off earlier during the day. A remaining portion sagged across the highway, blocking high-roofed traffic. The truck driver’s only alternative was to slowly reverse down Sanatoga Road to the North Pleasant View intersection, and then carefully maneuver the rig into a jack-knife-like position so he could turn north and away. A township Police Department patrol unit (above) arrived to help delay oncoming traffic in three directions while also directing the trucker.
