Two Injured in Thursday Morning Sanatoga Accident
SANATOGA PA – Two vehicles were severely damaged (at top and above), and their two drivers taken by Goodwill ambulances to Pottstown Hospital, following a Thursday (Sept. 23, 2021) motor vehicle accident at about 8:20 a.m. in the 2100 block of East High Street at the entrance to the Maple Glen housing community, Lower Pottsgrove police said.
Passengers were riding in one of the vehicles, but were not injured, police added.
The accident occurred as a white Mazda was exiting Maple Glen and preparing to turn left to head west onto East High Street. East High was “backed up” with slow-moving traffic at the time, police indicated. The Mazda and a gray Infinity collided at the midpoint of the roadway, across the street from the offices of Bursich Associates. The Infinity driver had been traveling east on East High in the center lane, and preparing to turn left onto Heritage Drive, police reported.
Fire police restricted the movement of passing traffic (above) as ambulance crews assisted victims, police conducted their investigation, and a tow truck operator began loading the cars to be hauled away.
Apparatus and volunteers from the Sanatoga and Ringing Hill fire companies, as well as fire police from both, a township police officer, and Goodwill’s emergency medical services’ personnel all responded to the scene. Both vehicles were inoperable, and were removed by Hawk’s Towing.
First responders cleaned up spilled fluids and remaining objects from the accident (above), and returned to their stations at about 8:55 a.m.
