Chip Allegedly Stolen from Table in ‘Distraction’

SKIPPACK PA – A suspect is being investigated by Pennsylvania State Police for alleged theft in an incident that occurred earlier this month at the Valley Forge Casino Resort, according to a public information release distributed Tuesday (Sept. 28, 2021). Troopers claim the male suspect stole a $500 chip off a black jack table in front of a victim.

Troopers from the Troop K Barracks in Skippack, on duty at the casino on behalf of the state Bureau of Gaming Enforcement, said the suspect “used a distraction tactic to reach across the table and take the $500 chip off her stack without her knowledge.” The victim, a 38-year-old woman from Hamden CT, “was playing at the time” and “had her chips directly in front of her,” the release stated.

The event occurred Sept. 18 (Saturday) at 4:56 a.m. in the casino, and troopers said it was reported to them 29 minutes later. Their investigation is continuing but the suspect has been identified, they added.
