Engineers Look at NorCo Bridge for Repair Plans

NORTH COVENTRY PA – Bridge engineers have examined the extent of damage caused to the Route 724 bridge over Eckers Creek, between Catfish Lane and Sheep Hill Road, by recent flooding and are expected to develop a plan for its repair, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said. No date for introduction of the plans was announced.

The bridge was closed, and detours put in place, during one day last week for the engineers’ inspection.

The Route 724 bridge over Eckers Creek was built in 1927. It’s a single span, two-lane reinforced concrete slab bridge that is 18 feet long, 26 feet wide, and carries about 7,757 vehicles a day.
