Still Dealing with Ida Property Damage? Call for Help

NORRISTOWN PA – Montgomery County residents who continue to struggle with clean-up efforts at home or business locations, damaged weeks ago by Tropical Storm Ida, have only two days remaining to apply for help from the county’s Hurricane Ida Crisis Cleanup Hotline. The service ends Friday (Oct. 8, 2021).

If you need assistance, call 1-844-965-1386.

The county can assign no-cost volunteer helpers to offer a hand, cut fallen trees, remove affected drywall, flooring, and appliances; secure tarps on roofs, and mitigate mold problems. Service cannot be guaranteed, the county warns, because resources are limited.

The county also recommends several other steps in obtaining hurricane-related support:

  • Complete an online form to alert the county of the damage. Only one form need be submitted per household. Find it here: https://veoci.com/veoci/p/links/MontcoDamageAssessmentForm;
  • Call the township or borough government where the property is located, and similarly provide information to them about damaged properties;
  • If you have homeowners, renters, flood, or commercial insurance, contact your insurance agent to receive instructions on filing a claim; and
  • If you have an uninsured loss, apply for financial assistance from the federal government using resources at the county’s Hurricane IDA webpage, here.
