Got Time and Muscle? Collegeville Needs Help
COLLEGEVILLE PA – Collegeville’s Economic Development Corporation and borough government hope to enlist groups of volunteers to come out Sunday (Oct. 17, 2021) in either of two shifts, from 9 a.m. to noon and 1-4 p.m., to help remove debris still remaining (at top) from the rains and winds brought seven weeks ago by Tropical Storm Ida.
The work will focus primarily on 1st Avenue Park, at the end of West First Avenue along the Perkiomen Creek in the borough. Sign-ups are being accepted by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org, or by calling borough hall at 610-489-9208.
Volunteers are encouraged to wear work gloves, and boots or old shoes. Also consider bringing bug spray, paper towels, wheelbarrows, wagons, or dollies that will help move large objects to nearby pick-up locations, it asked.
