Ciresi Proposes Bill for Schools’ PPE Grants

HARRISBURG PA – Proposed Pennsylvania legislation to establish a grant program for the current academic year that would give public and private schools money to buy personal protective equipment like face masks or related items, as well as cleaning and sanitizing supplies, has been introduced by state 146th House District Rep. Joe Ciresi, his office reported Tuesday (Oct. 19, 2021).

The proposal is similar to Act 30, passed by the Legislature for the previous school year, but which has now expired. If adopted, it also would allow schools to make modifications that ensure appropriate social distancing.

Ciresi said the measure is intended “to make sure our schools are safe spaces for our children” against transmission of the COVID-19 virus.
