Register to Comment on Aqua PA Rate Hike Request
HARRISBURG PA – Area residents who purchase water from Aqua Pennsylvania Inc. and who want to comment on its proposed rate hike will be given four opportunities to do so by phone, but must register in advance by phone or e-mail no later than Friday (Nov. 5, 2021) at 4 p.m., according to an advertisement published for the Pennsylvania Office of Consumer Advocate.
The office, which represents the interests of utility customers before that state Public Utilities Commission, filed a Sept. 13 (Monday) formal complaint against Aqua’s rate increase request. The commission ultimately decides for or against an increase, and if for in what amounts.
Telephonic hearings are scheduled for:
- Nov. 8 (Monday) at 6 p.m.,
- Nov. 9 (Tuesday) at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m.,
- Nov. 10 (Wednesday) at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m., and
- Nov. 12 (Friday) at 1 p.m.
Commenters who wish to be heard should send an e-mail to dalban@pa.gov, which includes their first and last names, the date and time of the telephonic public input session at which they wish to testify, the phone number they’ll use to call into the session, and if an interpreter is needed for those who speak a language other than English.
Those registering in advance by phone should call 412-565-3550 and be prepared to provide the same information as above, as well as their e-mail address, and a phone number to be reached before the hearing if a commission representative needs to make contact.
