Deadline Today For County Thanksgiving Donations

NORRISTOWN PA – Families across Montgomery County who face financial hardships this year will receive help in completing their Thanksgiving Day meals from efforts of the Limerick Police Department, among others. Public donations are the key to the program’s success, though, and Monday (Nov. 8, 2021) is the deadline for your help.

Police in both Limerick and Lower Salford townships during the past month have collected non-perishable food items in support of the Thanksgiving dinner food drive operated by the county Office and Health and Human Services. The Lower Salford collection ended Oct. 31, but items can still be dropped off at the Limerick department, 646 W. Ridge Pike, by no later than 4 p.m.

Needed donations include canned green beans, canned corn, canned sweet potatoes or yams, canned turkey gravy, canned cranberry sauce, boxed mashed potatoes, biscuit or corn bread mixes, boxed or bagged stuffing mixes, and boxed dessert mixes.

Also needed are Giant Food gift cards in denominations of between $10 and $25 to be used by families to purchase a turkey or other entrée.
