State Again Stocks Tri-County Creeks with Trout

HARRISBURG PA – With just one exception, fall and winter trout stocking in Montgomery, Berks and Chester counties is already complete, according to a list provided by the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission. More than 130,000 trout will have been released statewide between October and December, the agency said, to ensure local fishers enjoyed fall scenery and less competition for catches.

The stocking schedule, which was updated in late October, lists more than 90 release sites. Stocked recently in:

  • Montgomery County were Pennypack Creek at Lorimar Park on Oct. 20; and Deep Creek Dam at Green Lane Park, Nov. 4;
  • Berks County were Tulpehocken Creek, Oct. 13; Scotts Run Lake, Oct. 18; and Antietam Reservoir, Nov. 4; and
  • Chester County at the East Branch of Brandywine Creek, Oct. 13.

The exception? That’s among the state’s last area trout-stocking exercises, planned for Dec. 14 in Berks County at the Kaercher Creek Dam.
