Pottsgrove High Seniors Commit to Colleges

LOWER POTTSGROVE PA – Three Pottsgrove High School seniors – Yasir Gardner-Sizer, Sydney Schwanbeck, and Sydney Wasdick – have made commitments to play sports at and attend post-secondary institutions of their choosing, Pottsgrove School District Director of Athletics Steve Anspach reported. All are scheduled to graduate in 2022.

Yasir Gardner-Sizer

Gardner-Sizer has agreed to attend Bucknell University and play centerfield on its baseball team. His anticipated major in college is not yet decided.

His past athletic achievements include recognitions for 2021 First Team All-Frontier Division, 2nd Team All Area, and Perfect Game Preseason All American. His academic and community service includes participation in the Diversity Council 2020-2021.

Sydney Schwanbeck

Schwanbeck has agreed to attend Coastal Carolina University and play blocker on its beach volleyball team. She intends to major in marine science.

Her past athletic achievements include recognitions for All Area Honorable Mention, USAV High Performance, Swimming – District Qualifier, and Varsity Volleyball Captain. Her academic and community service includes participation in Spark the Wave, Meals on Wheels, Last Chance Ranch, and the Animal Rescue League.

Sydney Wasdick

Wasdick has agreed to attend West Chester University and play midfield on its women’s lacrosse team. She intends to major in business.

Her past athletic achievements include recognitions for lacrosse, 2019 and 2021 First team All-Frontier Division, 2021 First team All-Area, and 100 goals scored during her junior year; and for volleyball, 2021 Second Team All-Frontier Division, and 2020 2nd Team All-Area. Her academic and community service includes participation as a Lower Pottsgrove Athletic Association coach, and distinguished honors.
