Grand View Health Wins Heart Association Awards
SELLERSVILLE PA – Grand View Hospital has been recognized by the American Heart Association with awards for delivering what it called the “highest level of care” for heart failure and atrial fibrillation.
The association said it recognized the hospital’s commitment to ensuring patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines that rely on latest scientific evidence.
Grand View, which operates outpatient centers in Harleysville and Pennsburg, said it received the association’s “Get With The Guidelines” honors for Heart Failure Gold Plus With Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll Award; and its Atrial Fibrillation Gold Award. The hospital it was the only hospital in Southeastern Pa. to earn the atrial fibrillation award.
Atrial fibrillation is a heart condition that accounts for about a third of rhythm disturbances, and is associated with a five-times increased risk of stroke. Proper treatment can reduce risks of stroke and may also reduce risks for heart failure.
Heart failure affects more than 6.5 million adults in the United States, Individuals with heart failure that is not well-managed typically experience frequent, recurrent hospitalization. Proper medication management, utilization of implantable devices, and consistent healthy lifestyle choices can help people with heart failure lead full, enjoyable lives and reduce hospitalizations.
