DUI Arrest Made Thursday After Green Lane Crash

SKIPPACK PA – A 41-year-old Quakertown man was arrested Thursday (Nov. 18, 2021) after a motor vehicle accident in Green Lane Borough, Pennsylvania State Police at the Troop K Barracks in Skippack reported.

In other public information releases distributed Saturday (Nov. 20), troopers also reported earlier arrests of a Gilbertsville man for fleeing, and a Norristown woman for drug possession.

Green Lane accident

Troopers responded Thursday at 1:36 a.m. to a single-vehicle crash involving a 2005 Ford F150-XLT that occurred on Main Street in Green Lane. During their investigation, troopers alleged the vehicle’s driver “showed signs of impairment and was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance.” He was subsequently taken into custody.

Fleeing and eluding arrest

A 24-year-old Gilbertsville man was tracked down by troopers and arrested at his home for “fleeing and eluding” law enforcement Nov. 9 (Tuesday) at 11:51 p.m. His capture followed their stated attempt to conduct a traffic stop on westbound U.S. Route 422 in Limerick Township.

Troopers said they attempted to halt the man, who was driving a 2014 BMW, for an alleged traffic violation, but said he fled the scene. He “was subsequently caught at his residence,” they wrote. Criminal charges in the case have been filed with a local magisterial district court, they added.

Drug possession alleged

Charges have been filed, troopers said, in the Harleysville courtroom of Magisterial District Justice Albert J. Augustine against a 43-year-old Norristown woman who was a driver in a two-vehicle crash that occurred Oct. 6 at 10:14 p.m. It involved a 2021 Subaru Outback and a 1996 Pontiac Firebird at the intersection of Valley Forge Road and Woodlyn Avenue in Worcester Township.

At one point, troopers alleged, the driver “fled the scene on foot.” She was later arrested for drug possession.
