North Coventry Police Search for Hit-Run Driver
NORTH COVENTRY PA – North Coventry Township police indicate they are continuing their search for a driver whose vehicle struck a wheelchair Wednesday (Nov. 17, 2021) at about 5:15 p.m., while the man seated in it was moving east along the 200 block of River Road.
The victim of the hit-and-run crash was ejected from the wheelchair, suffered “head and neck pain,” and was transported to Pottstown Hospital by Goodwill Ambulance. His current condition was not reported.
The police department on its CrimeWatch website said a passing vehicle, possibly a 2011- to 2014-model Ford Edge, “struck the wheelchair from behind with its right-front bumper and failed to stop.” The wheelchair had been positioned on the right (south) edge of the roadway, the report added.
The department asked “anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or may know of the striking vehicle,” to call it at 610-323-8360, or send an anonymous tip using the website’s “Submit A Tip” page, here. Those offering information are asked to refer to Report No. 20211117M5666.
