New Pullman Joins Colebrookdale Line for Holidays
Talk about special service! Hot chocolate gets served (at top) on some Colebrookdale Railroad trips
BOYERTOWN PA – The newest passenger car added Friday (Nov. 26, 2021) to the line-up of equipment outfitted for the Colebrookdale Railroad, 64 S. Washington St., is a real classic, the popular excursion train attraction announced. It’s “yet another vintage Pullman car” that takes its place in the railroad’s collection of restored rolling stock, its said.
But, as with so many things at Colebrookdale, this one also features a special something. It’s as though touches of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” can be seen everywhere.
Monique Becker, of Becker Home Holistic Interior Design in Boyertown, has transformed its 1920s-era carriage into a holiday-themed “Ghosts of Christmas Past” car. Riders can absorb the beauty of the ceilings draped in flowered garlands, swags bordering the windows, glitter on the ornaments, and strings of twinkling lights, it said.
The railroad’s other five existing cars are also decked out in their holiday finest, thanks to what the non-profit trust described as “almost two weeks of work by volunteers.”
The Colebrookdale is currently booking reservations for its “Polar Bear Express” and “‘Twas The Night Before Christmas” runs. All offer guest opportunities enroute for memorable photos and videos. For more information, see the railroad’s website, here. To see schedules and buy tickets, look here.
