After Business Damage, Palm Thief Jangled Away

SKIPPACK PA – The cost of wreckage caused Friday (Dec. 3, 2021) by a thief in the Upper Hanover Township community of Palm was nearly 20 times more than the amount he or she actually stole, Pennsylvania State Police report.

Investigators from the state’s Troop K Barracks in Skippack have not yet identified the unknown actor who they said, sometime between 10 and 10:30 a.m., attacked and “pried open two coin-operated car wash machines” at the Palm Car Wash, 811 Gravel Pike. Whatever was used to wrench them open, they added, created damage valued at $300.

And for what? Troopers estimate the thief made off with only $15.50.

All of it in quarters.

Their investigation of the incident is continuing, troopers added in the report distributed Saturday (Dec. 4). Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call the barracks at 610-584-1250.
