Day and Night Work Scheduled Next Week on 422

LOWER POTTSGROVE PA – East- and westbound drivers traveling next Monday through Friday (Dec. 13-17, 2021) during day and overnight hours on U.S. Route 422 in Lower Pottsgrove, between its Armand Hammer Boulevard and Sanatoga exits, are likely to encounter single-land closures as bridge reconstruction work continues at sites where South Pleasant View and South Park roads cross the expressway.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said the work schedules are for:

  • Eastbound 422, daily from 9 a.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning; and
  • Westbound 422 daily from 7 p.m. to 2 p.m. the following afternoon.

Drivers are advised to use an allow extra time when traveling through the work area, because backups and delays are expected. All scheduled activities depend on acceptable weather.

The replacement of the two bridges crossing 422 is being done ahead of starting a project to rebuild 422 between the Sanatoga Interchange and Porter Road, PennDOT said. H&K Group Inc. of Skippack is the general contractor on the $7.1 million project. It’s anticipated to be finished in late 2022.
