Truck, Wagon Collide on Farmington Avenue in Upper Pottsgrove
UPPER POTTSGROVE PA – A motor vehicle accident that occurred Tuesday (Dec. 14, 2021) at 11:10 a.m. at the intersection of Farmington Avenue and North State Street in Upper Pottsgrove (at top) left one driver with injuries to his hand, township police said. However, he declined to be treated by emergency medical services personnel who responded to the scene, they added.
Police indicated the driver of a Jeep Cherokee wagon was traveling north on North State Street, while the operator of a Dodge pick-up truck was moving south on Farmington. The two vehicles (at left) collided just north of the intersection, a short distance away from the Upper Pottsgrove Township municipal building at 1409 Farmington Ave.
Because police were conducting their investigation and had not yet produced a report, few details of the incident were immediately available. Names or other identifying information about the drivers was not offered. However, police said it appeared the incident involved one or more traffic violations, and it was possible at least one driver could be ticketed.
In addition to Goodwill Ambulance and Upper Pottsgrove police, Montgomery County emergency dispatchers sent first responder volunteers to the scene from the Upper Pottsgrove Fire, and Gilbertsville Fire and Rescue companies, and fire police from the Ringing Hill and Gilbertsville companies. Broken glass and other debris, littering the highway at the crash site, were swept up and removed by firefighters.
During the investigation, traffic was blocked by fire police on a portion of Farmington Avenue from Maugers Mill Road to a point south of the municipal building, dispatchers indicated.
Neither vehicle could be driven from the scene. Both were towed by Douglassville Auto Body.
