Discovery Center Hosts ‘Noon Years Eve’
POTTSTOWN PA – A third annual Noon Years’ Eve, a family-oriented observance of the end of 2021 and celebration for the arrival of 2022, will be hosted by the Pottstown Children’s Discovery Center on Dec. 31 (2021; Friday) from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at 95 Hanover St.
This year’s schedule includes crafts, games, snacks, STEM activities, and mindfulness activities intended to encourage children and families to set their sights on a bright future. Center founder Beth Desch will read to kids and get them to begin thinking about the coming year and all they can be.
But the most exciting part of the morning, organizers said, will be the count-down to, and Balloon Drop for the new year’s impending arrival. It’s a way to ensure kids who are too young to stay awake until midnight don’t miss out on their own personal celebration.
Past years’ events have been held at accommodating remote locations like the Coventry Mall (in 2019, at top), but this year’s fun will be found in the building where the Discovery Center intends to make its home, inside space renovated and outfitted for its use.
To assure visitors’ safety, masks will be required to be worn by all who attend, and sanitizing supplies will be available.
Tickets for the event have been limited for social distancing purposes. They’re available online now at a cost of $5 per person or $25 for a family of 5 or more people. Register here.
