Soccer Field Grading Under Way at Richards Park

GRADING IN GREAT WEATHER – Employees of contractor James R. Kenney of Collegeville, led by son James Kenney Jr., took advantage Tuesday (Dec. 14, 2021) of the morning’s bright sun and warmer temperatures to begin grading work on the new soccer field installation at Lower Pottsgrove Township’s Gerald Richards Park. The work had been delayed, township engineers told its Board of Commissioners earlier this month, by both a lack of necessary supplies and by a COVID outbreak among the firm’s workers. Those at the park seemed in both good health and spirits, and Kenney Jr. himself piloted the earth-moving equipment. The field is part of more than $528,000 worth of a second round of park improvements that, given a winter break, will take several more months to complete.
