PHOENIXVILLE PA – Last weekend’s bout of high winds only postponed, not prevented, the 18th annual Firebird Festival in Phoenixville. Organizers said it has been rescheduled and will proceed Saturday (Dec. 18, 2021) from 5-11 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Park, 192 Mowere Rd. Five hundred additional tickets for the event have been made available, thanks to permission from Borough Council.

The annual community celebration end by setting a giant wooden firebird aflame. Up to 1,000 people are expected to attend.

Tickets, priced at $20 and $30 per person, are being sold on Eventbrite, here. The ticketing system was implemented this year to help control crowd size. Because all proceeds from ticket sales represent donations that help cover costs associated with the festival, organizers reminded those who attend that ticket fees are tax-deductible.

No parking is available at the festival site. Limited parking will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at Bates Landscaping, 701 St. Mary St. Ride-sharing is encouraged to limit congestion, and the bike path from downtown Phoenixville to the park is handy for those walking to the event.

For those unable to attend, the festival also will be live-streamed on Channel 28 for subscribers of either Comcast or Verizon cable systems, or the Firebird Festival YouTube channel here.

Volunteers are also needed at the event. Prospective volunteers can contact festival organizers here.
