Pottstown, Limerick Airports Win Federal Grants

WASHINGTON DC – Two Montgomery County airports, in Pottstown and Limerick, and two in Chester County, in Coatesville and West Chester, will receive a combined total of $1.51 million in funding for repairs and improvements from airport infrastructure grants that are part of the recently passed federal Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, Pennsylvania Sen. Bob Casey announced Thursday (Dec. 16).
Receiving money in the just-issued grant round are:
- Pottstown Municipal Airport, 1149 Glasgow St., $159,000;
- Heritage Field, 3310 W. Ridge Pike, Limerick, $295,000;
- Chester County G. O. Carlson Airport, 1 Earhart Dr., Coatesville, $763,000; and
- Brandywine Regional Airport, 1205 Ward Ave., West Chester, $295,000.
The four area recipients were among 62 airports statewide that won more than $70 million in total funding. More grants for Pennsylvania airports are expected in years to come, Casey added.
