Troopers Investigate Forcible Burglary in Perkiomen
PERKIOMEN PA – An apparent burglary that occurred early Christmas Day (Saturday, Dec. 25, 2021) at 3:30 a.m. in a Perkiomen Township building is being investigated by Pennsylvania State Police from the Troop K Barracks in Skippack.
In a report released Thursday (Dec. 30), troopers said they arrived at the Gravel Pike location to find an unknown actor had forcibly “broken into the basement of the residence,” turned off electrical power there, and had “damaged and removed copper piping and wiring” from the scene. Troopers so far have not indicated a cost of the damage to the property’s owner.
However, a second victim in the incident – a 52-year-old man who lived in the building – lost groceries valued at $400 because of the power interruption, troopers said. It occurred while “he was away from the residence,” they added.
