Pottstown Girl Wrestlers Boost Sport’s Growth
WRESTLING SUCCESS – Pottstown High School girl wrestlers Xiyah Robinson and Mia Bumbarger (at top) “had a big day” Tuesday (Dec. 28, 2021), the Pottstown School District reported, among more than 125 female wrestlers who participated in the Gov. Mifflin High School all-girl wrestling tournament (below) in Reading PA. Bumbarger went 3-0 to earn first place with a decision, pin, and medical forfeit. Robinson enjoyed an 8-4 win, and in a championship match gave the 2021 returning state champ “a good battle before losing by fall.” Pottstown’s “girls got a lot of experience in an atmosphere that was positive for building the sport of girls wrestling,” the district said.
