Wet Road Possible Factor in Saturday Accident

LOWER POTTSGROVE PA – The driver and two passengers in a four-door Honda Accord escaped injury Saturday (New Year’s Day, Jan. 1, 2022) following a 10:21 p.m. accident in the 1100 block of North Adams Street in Lower Pottsgrove, between its bridge over Sprogels Run and the intersection of Buchert Road, township police said at the scene.

They reported the car was headed north on North Adams, toward the intersection, when the driver lost control. The vehicle swerved off the right shoulder of the highway and up a steep embankment, then overturned onto the driver’s side, police reported. Officers indicated wet road conditions near the bridge, caused by a day-long rain, appeared to have been a contributing factor.

No traffic citations were issued, they added.

A light rain continued to fall as first responders worked. Fire police at times blocked portions of North Adams and Buchert, but later opened a single lane on Buchert that allowed traffic to pass in both directions.

Called to the scene by Montgomery County emergency dispatchers were units of the Ringing Hill fire company, Sanatoga fire police, and the Pottstown fire department. The damaged vehicle was removed by Hawk’s Towing. Rescue crews were on site for about 50 minutes.
