Hand-Crocheted Hats Keep Pottstown Students Warmer

HATS ON! – Warm winter hats have been distributed to members of the first-grade class of teacher Kathy Eagle at Barth Elementary School in Pottstown (at top), thanks to Eagle’s mother, Chris Rhoads. Rhoads, a participant in the Pottstown School District’s Golden Sage volunteer program, hand-crocheted each of the hats that were recently presented as gifts to the students, the district reported. The hats arrived just as the area’s latest spate of cold temperatures got under way. Golden Sage, which began in Pottstown in 1994, enlists individuals age 60 and older to voluntarily share their talents and knowledge with students and staff in the district.
