Update: Missing Township Woman Reported Found, Safe

LOWER POTTSGROVE PA – A Lower Pottsgrove woman reported Dec. 29 as missing has been located and is reported as safe, township Police Chief Rick Bell said Wednesday (Jan. 5, 2022) shortly after 11 a.m.

Nancy Shade, 62, was last seen walking on Bleim Road four days after Christmas at about midnight. She had not been heard from since, and both the police department and the Pennsylvania State Police requested public help in locating her.

Bell said the department had “been in contact with the missing woman,” and added “she is safe.” Its investigation into the matter has been closed, he said.

Her name and information also has been removed from the state’s Missing Endangered Persons Alert (MEPA) database. The state police, on its Facebook page earlier today, confirmed “Shade was located and is safe. The MEPA is canceled.” It ended the message by thanking Facebook readers and the public for sharing the news about her disappearance and the satisfactory result.
