Ahead of Snow, MCCC Cancels Friday Campus Activities
POTTSTOWN PA – In anticipation of predicted winter snowfall and cold temperatures, Montgomery County Community College canceled “any on-campus classes and activities scheduled” for Friday (Jan. 7, 2022) before 3 p.m. at its Pottstown, Blue Bell, and Lansdale campuses, it said in a Thursday (Jan. 6) e-mail distribution.
“All locations will be accessible after 3 p.m. for scheduled activities and events,” it added.
The college’s online classes, services, and offices remain unaffected. They “will operate and be available remotely as regularly scheduled,” it said. Students will receive additional follow-up information as needed, the e-mail stated.
Also Thursday, in notices posted at about 9 a.m. on its web pages, the college reported it “will operate remotely through Feb. 1. College operations will be re-evaluated the week of Jan. 24 to determine our approach after Feb. 1.” In a separate message to its students and employees, the college said the decision was a precautionary measure “due to the recent surge of COVID cases.”
