Two Local Accounting Firms Merge with Herbein + Company
SANATOGA PA – Two local certified accountant advisory firms, Sanatoga-based Cappelletti, Pinter & Company PC and LaMastra Group PC of Royersford, are among the latest acquired by Herbein + Company Inc., located in Berks County’s Spring Township. Herbein provides accounting and auditing services to several businesses and local taxing entities, including the Pottsgrove School District.
Its acquisitions were announced Thursday (Jan. 13, 2022) but took effect Jan. 1, according to a media release. The values of the transactions were not disclosed.
Cappelletti, Pinter & Company principal Matthew Cappelletti Jr., CPA, will become a senior consultant to Herbein in the merger. Carl A. LaMastra, CPA, head of the LaMastra Group, will join Herbein as a partner. Both firms will remain in their current locations. Herbein also operates a Pottstown office in Michael L. Cross & Company, which it bought in 2016.
“Greater Montgomery County is a dynamic, prosperous area with numerous vibrant communities,” Herbein Managing Partner David W. Stonesifer, CPA, said. It welcomes Cappelletti, Pinter & Company and The LaMastra Group, “firms that share our values and client-centric approach,” as evidence of Herbein’s further commitment to the area, he added.
Cappelletti noted his firm was “looking for an opportunity to add more resources” to its team, “as well as more ways to help our clients (in) this historically unusual environment.” Herbein’s “terrific experience in all of the areas we work in” will complement and enhance the local firm’s current service offerings, he added.
Joining Herbein also will help the Royersford firm assist its clients in facing “the challenges and opportunities of the post-COVID era,” LaMastra said.
