Pottsgrove, Giant Offer Free Vaccines for Ages 5-11

LOWER POTTSGROVE PA – Doses of the two-shot Pfizer vaccine, specifically intended for children from ages 5-11 against COVID-19 and its variants, will be offered during a Jan. 25 (2022; Tuesday) clinic from 3-6 p.m. in the cafeteria of Pottsgrove High School, 1345 Kauffman Rd. The vaccinations are being provided free under a partnership between the district and Giant Company food markets.

Because the clinic will be held only by appointment, obtaining a vaccination requires advance scheduling through an online portal at Giant, here. Use the zip code “19464” to register.

Registration is open to Pottsgrove residents and also those who live outside the district. Vaccines are available on first-come first-served basis, so those interested are asked to sign up promptly for their children to receive this protection. The vaccine is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Those with appointments are asked to enter the cafeteria from its entrance on the building’s west side, near the tennis courts.

The clinic will be operated by Giant’s Pharmacy Group. An informed consent form must be completed by parents before their children receive the vaccine. Families should be aware that state law requires a parent or guardian to accompany any student younger than age 18 throughout the clinic, as well as during a post-vaccination waiting period.

Second doses will be scheduled for Feb. 15 (Tuesday) also from 3-6 p.m., and for the same time as their child’s first appointment. Parents will be given a second-dose appointment reminder card at the first appointment.
