Brief Lockout Wednesday at West Pottsgrove School

STOWE PA – “Police activity” in the vicinity of West Pottsgrove Elementary School on Grosstown Road prompted a “school-wide lockout” Wednesday (Jan. 26, 2022) at around 11 a.m. for about 15 minutes, according to a notification sent to school families by Principal Steve Sieller.

The nature of the activity was not defined. The lockout, a precautionary measure, allowed instruction and other internal building operations to proceed without interruption. No outside activities occur during a lockout, and visitors are not allowed to enter or leave the building for its duration, the Pottsgrove School District explained in a separate notice.

With the lockout’s limited duration, “all school activities” were quickly resumed, the district indicated. Sieller’s notice thanked “the West Pottsgrove Police Department for (its) continued efforts in ensuring the safety and well-being of our community.”
