Crash Mobilizes Limerick, Upper Providence Rescuers

LIMERICK PA – U.S. Route 422 was temporarily closed during Friday (Jan. 28, 2022) during rush-hour traffic, the Limerick Fire Department reported, as it and other first-responder organizations arrived near its Lewis Road interchange to handle a vehicle accident with injuries and a subsequent rescue operation.

A vehicle, shown in photos at the department website here, “crossed over from the westbound lane into the eastbound lane,” firefighters wrote. Crews from Limerick Rescue 51 and Upper Providence Township Fire and Rescue Engine 68 “extricated one individual from the vehicle,” the report added.

Responding in addition to Limerick were Trappe Ambulance, Friendship Ambulance of Royersford, and Pennsylvania State Police.
