UPPER POTTSGROVE PA – Registration in half- and full-day summer nature camp experiences at Althouse Arboretum, 1794 Gilbertsville Rd., for children entering kindergarten through fourth grade, began Sunday (Feb. 6, 2022) and will be available through early May, the park’s newsletter announced.

Parents who are interested, however, shouldn’t wait. Nature camp fun has been a hot ticket during past years, and 2022 may be no exception. Four half-day and eight full-day camps covering a variety of themes and topics are scheduled during June, July and August, it said. A camp preview brochure is already available online, here.

Half-day programs are planned about wilderness and wildlife, “Mad Scientists,” “Water Week,” and “The Magic Forest.” Admission is $91.50 per child. Full-day programs also focus on wilderness and wildlife, “Mad Scientists,” “Water Week,” and “The Magic Forest,” as well as “Summer Olympics,” “Around the World,” “Secret Agent,” and “Disney Adventures.”

Participants can be registered online, here, using a form created for the purpose.

Families can choose to pay online or wait for a bill to arrive in the mail. For those choosing bills, a $50 reservation deposit for all camps must be paid by check to hold available openings. Checks can be made to arboretum sponsor GreenAllies, and returned with the lower portion of its bill. Be advised that all payments are non-refundable. Full payments for camp enrollments are due before May 1.

For more information or answers to questions call the arboretum at 267-371-2288 or submit an online inquiry at its website contact page, here.

Althouse Arboretum is a 17-acre site preserved as open space by Upper Pottsgrove Township, and converted into an outdoor learning center by the nonprofit GreenAllies. The park includes trails, outdoor classrooms, and nature education sites.
