Limerick Biotech Firm Rockland Buys German Company

LIMERICK PA – Rockland Immunochemicals Inc., a privately held Limerick-based manufacturer of biotechnology industrial tools for basic, applied, and clinical research, said Thursday (Feb. 10, 2022) it had completed its acquisition of antibodies-online GmbH, a German biotech company whose products help in development of medical therapies and diagnostics.

The combined companies’ customers rely on them for assistance in creating biologic, cell, gene, and RNA therapies, diagnostics, and vaccines, according to Rockland.

The purchase price was not disclosed. However, Rockland said it extended a partnership with an investment institution, BroadOak Capital Partners, to finance the deal.

The acquisition allows Rockland to combine its “design, development, and manufacture of antibodies and assays” with antibodies-online’s e-commerce brand, supplier network, and proprietary technology. The move adds to Rockland’s scale and growth, its President and CEO Jim Fendrick said, while enhancing “supply chain stability” for clients.
