It’s A Big Week for Reading, Fun in Pottsgrove Schools

ONLY ONE THING’S BETTER THAN A GOOD READ – And that’s a good read, shared. At Lower Pottsgrove Elementary School, Buchert Road, readers used silent time (at top) Monday morning (Feb. 28, 2022) for study and discovery in the hallway outside their classroom. Monday marked the start of Read Across America Week in the Pottsgrove School District’s three elementary buildings – Lower, West Pottsgrove, and Ringing Rocks – as well as in other districts in Montgomery County and beyond. All three schools are hosting special reading guests and programs during the five-day event. It’s held annually by the National Education Association to instill a love of the written word. This year’s campaign focuses on books, authors, and teaching resources that promote diversity and inclusion. Lower Pottsgrove Elementary is supporting that theme, in part, with its “Rainbow Fish” (below) and an accompanying message. Both are displayed prominently near the school’s entrance doors.
