Gilbertsville Man Arrested on Firearms Charge
SKIPPACK PA – A 44-year-old Gilbertsville man has been arrested for allegedly possessing a prohibited firearm, and also was charged with other offenses related to what Pennsylvania State Police claimed was an incident in which he attempted to flee from law enforcement, according to a report released Tuesday (March 22, 2022) from the agency’s Troop K Barracks in Skippack.
Troopers said they were called March 13 (Sunday) at 5:06 a.m. to a location in the 500 block of Gravel Pike in Perkiomen Township. There they said they found an “unresponsive” male siting in the driver’s seat of a 2002-model Chevrolet Tahoe that was parked with its engine running.
Its operator, later identified to be the Gilbertsville resident, “was asked to get out” of the vehicle. He “did not follow any commands given to him” by troopers, their report stated.
Later the man “exited his vehicle and attempted to flee, but was immediately taken into custody,” the report added.
Court records indicate he is being additionally charged with carrying a firearm without a license, alcohol- and drug-related offenses, and resisting arrest. A formal arraignment is scheduled for May, records show.
