Dean, Son Talk April 20 on Overcoming Substance Abuse

POTTSTOWN PA – Mother-and-son authors Rep. Madeleine Dean and Harry Cunnane (at top), whose book titled “Under Our Roof” is described as “an honest account” of substance abuse as “a pressing national crisis,” will be featured speakers April 20 (2022; Wednesday) during a membership breakfast held by the TriCounty Area Chamber of Commerce at Brookside Country Club, 850 N. Adams St.

In the book published in February 2021, Dean – who represents Pennsylvania’s 4th House District in Congress – and her son “reveal how he survived a 10-year battle with opioid abuse, and what their family’s journey to recovery can teach us about finding hope amid the unspeakable,” according to Amazon Books.

The chamber said it also will provide access to resources for dealing with substance use in the workplace.

The presentation is part of the chamber’s “9-in-5 Series of Breakfasts,” and is scheduled for 8-9:35 a.m. Tickets cost $35 for chamber members and $70 for non-members.
