LOWER POTTSGROVE PA – The Saturday morning (April 9, 2022) rain was on, then off. Pouring, then light. Then off again. By that time it was just about 10 a.m., and families had already gathered for the Lower Pottsgrove Township Parks and Recreation-sponsored Easter egg hunt. There was every reason to hold it given the break in the weather, volunteers there determined.

So in their appropriate age groups, children scrambled out onto a portion of the ball field at the upper level of Sanatoga Park on South Park Road to gather up dozens of shiny plastic eggs. Some of them contained ticketed for prizes that included large, bright Easter baskets brimming with goodies and gifts, and smaller chocolate bunnies waiting to be devoured.

The soggy conditions probably held some families back, but the attendance included dozens of kids and family members, as well as township employees, Parks and Recreation Board members, and student volunteers from Pottsgrove High School.
