Pottstown LGBT Center Holds Open House Wednesday

POTTSTOWN PA – The satellite location of the LGBT Center of Greater Reading that recently opened at First Baptist Church, 301 King St., will host an open house and welcomes drop-in visits Wednesday (April 13, 2022) from 4-7 p.m., it announced. Visitors are suggested to use the center’s Charlotte Street doors, it added.

Community residents are encouraged to “swing by, meet us, and let us know what kind of services and programming you’d like to see in Pottstown,” its staff noted. Light refreshments will be served, it said.

The Pottstown site opened in late March and is intended to serve and better represent the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer constituency in Montgomery County, according to Executive Director Michelle Dech in Reading.

The church sees its partnership with the center as an opportunity to “expand our service to the Pottstown community in all its diversity” its pastor, the Rev. Dr. Marcia Bailey, said. For more information call the church at 610-326-2273.
