Ridge Pike Resurfacing Work Prompts Lane Closures
KING OF PRUSSIA PA – One of several projects to resurface more than 200 miles of state highways within the five-county Philadelphia region will again this week affect a portion of Ridge Pike though Limerick, Trappe, and Collegeville, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation reported from its District 6 office in King of Prussia.
A lane closure is planned overnights Monday through Friday (April 18-22, 2022) from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next morning on Ridge Pike from Route 29 to Limerick Center Road for milling and paving. Then, on Tuesday through Friday (April 19-22) from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., another lane closure is scheduled on the same roadway for what the state called “casting adjustments.”
Because the state believes slowdowns will occur during these periods, PennDOT advised drivers to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas. All scheduled activities depend on acceptable weather.
PennDOT said it is milling the existing road surfaces and repaving them with new asphalt. The work will seal the roads and provide drivers with a smoother ride.
