Want to Vote in Primaries? Register by Monday Deadline
NORRISTOWN PA – For those interested in voting in primary elections being held this year in Montgomery County, the last day to register to vote is Monday (May 2, 2022), the county Voter Services Department reminded residents. Postmarked dates won’t apply, it added; fully completed registration forms must be physically received by the county no later than its Monday close of business.
Voter Services recommended this link on its website for use in applying to be registered. If there’s time, you could also submit a form by mail or hand-deliver it to the office. Find the form online, here.
Individuals applying to register to vote must be:
- A citizen of the United States for at least one month before the next primary, special, municipal, or general election;
- A resident of Pennsylvania, and in the election district in which the individual desires to register and vote, for at least 30 days before the next primary, special, municipal, or general election; and
- At least 18 years of age on or before the day of the next primary, special, municipal, or general election.
Unsure whether or not you’re qualified to vote? It’s a good idea to double-check your voter registration to ensure that your most current address, name, and political affiliation are on file, the department suggested. Voters also can ensure they are assigned to the correct polling location, that their demographic information is correct.
