Pottsgrove Unveiled Athletic Hall of Fame Tributes Saturday

LOWER POTTSGROVE PA – A large crowd of admirers, family members, friends, and past and present Pottsgrove High School athletes and coaches (above) were in attendance Saturday (April 30, 2022) as the school district conducted an induction ceremony to honor its six 2022 candidates for the high school’s Athletic Hall of Fame.

Inducted were:

  • Kathy-Jo Winterbottom, Class of 1981, basketball, softball, and field hockey;
  • Jermaine Thaxton, Class of 1998, football and basketball;
  • Jimmy Cerminaro, Class of 1997, football, basketball, and baseball;
  • Dana Weems, Class of 2002, basketball;
  • Megan Van Buskirk Karlan, Class of 2006, winter track, spring track, and soccer; and
  • the 2008 Boys Soccer Team.

Pottsgrove Unveiled Athletic Hall of Fame Tributes Saturday

All were recognized for their outstanding achievements in a variety of sports and competitions. Although introductions of the athletes, and the praise and thanks that followed, occurred in the school’s spacious library the event’s primary focus was within the gym lobby, where its Hall of Fame plaques are prominently displayed.

That’s where, to audience applause, district Director of Athletics Steve Anspach unveiled the tributes (at top) for each of those inducted.
