Ciresi, Township Co-Host Today’s Afternoon Shred Event

LOWER POTTSGROVE PA – A free document-shredding event co-hosted by state 146th District Rep. Joe Ciresi and Lower Pottsgrove Township is scheduled to be held Sunday (today, May 22, 2022) from noon to 3 p.m., or until the shredding truck fills up, at Pottsgrove High School, 1345 Kauffman Rd.

Ciresi and the township Board of Commissioners urge area residents to protect themselves from identity theft by bringing old documents that contain confidential or personal information to the event. They’ll be shredded on the site. Participants are asked to limit themselves to five or fewer boxes of paper to be shredded per household.

Commissioners voted during their Feb. 24 meeting to help sponsor the event with a $350 contribution. During their Thursday (May 19) meeting, township Manager Ed Wagner suggested those interested in taking advantage of the service arrive early. At a similar event held earlier and also conducted by Ciresi and the township, he reported, the truck filled before the scheduled shredding period ended.
