Spring City Man Ticketed After Kimberton Road Accident

WEST PIKELAND PA – A 60-year-old Spring City man was hospitalized and cited for traffic-related offenses by Pennsylvania State Police from the Troop J Barracks in Embreeville after a single-vehicle accident on Kimberton Road, according to a report issued Saturday (May 28, 2022).

Troopers said the Spring City resident was traveling May 24 (Tuesday) at 6:51 a.m. in a 2011-model Volvo S80, headed north on Kimberton Road, south of Yellow Springs Road, in West Pikeland Township.

Troopers alleged the car “drifted across the roadway and struck a utility pole on (its) left shoulder.” It continued northbound and then “collided with the deck structure” of a nearby building, their report added, “spun around, and came to a stop on the left side of the roadway.”

The driver, who at the time was wearing a lap and shoulder belt, “sustained minor injuries as a result of this crash,” troopers wrote. They said he was transported by Uwchlan Ambulance Corps and its emergency medical services personnel to Paoli Hospital for treatment. The report did not mention the extent of his injuries.

The vehicle “sustained disabling damage to the front bumper, front engine compartment, front axle, and body panels,” troopers observed. Kimberton Fire Company volunteers and Able Brothers towing responded to the scene to provide assistance.

Troopers said the driver was cited for careless driving, and failure to navigate roadways laned for traffic.
