‘Coffee With A Cop’ Planned Saturday at Hilltop in Sanatoga

SANATOGA PA – Settle in with a cup of coffee Saturday (June 18, 2022), and while you’re at it take the time to meet members of the Lower Pottsgrove Police Department, during its latest “Coffee With A Cop” event. It starts at 8:30 a.m. at the Hilltop Diner, 2910 E. High St., is free to attend, and open to the public.

Coffee With A Cop is intentionally a low-key affair, held in an informal and neutral setting with the hope of building relationships and encouraging community discussion. Visitors can not only talk casually with officers and commanders, but also ask questions and learn more about the department’s work within the township.

Experience demonstrates the majority of contact law enforcers have with the public happens during emergencies or emotional situations. Those are not always the most effective times for relationship-building, and some community members may feel officers are unapproachable on the street. The event is the department’s attempt to break down barriers and allow for relaxed, one-on-one interaction.

Coffee with a Cop is a national initiative supported by U.S. Department of Justice and its Office of Community Oriented Policing Services. Similar events are being held across the county.
