Barto Man Injured in One-Vehicle Skippack Accident
SKIPPACK PA – A 36-year-old Barto man was injured when the pick-up truck he was driving in Skippack Township struck a utility pole and overturned on its side, Pennsylvania State Police from the Troop K Barracks said Tuesday (June 21, 2022).
Troopers reported the man was driving June 8 (Wednesday) at 12:22 p.m. in a 2007-model Ford F250 Supercab on Skippack Pike, just west of Cross Road, when it “struck a utility pole and was turned over on its driver side.”
The driver was trapped inside the vehicle and “had to be extricated” by Skippack Fire Department volunteers, they said. He wore lap and shoulder seat belts at the time, the report stated.
The victim was cared for on-site by a Skippack Emergency Medical Services team, troopers added. According to the report, he was taken to Grandview Hospital for initial treatment, but they noted a PennStar helicopter also responded.
Also assisting at the scene were Skippack Fire police. The truck “sustained disabling damage” and was towed away.
The driver was cited, troopers said, for failure to drive properly on roadways laned for traffic.
